This save you a lot of time and frustration.

RECOVERY GEAR

Recovery gear are a series of items that you will need should things go wrong on the trail. Misjudging the terrain ahead could lead to you getting stuck far from any main road or highway.

The kit contains a snatch strap, a tree protector, a 3/4 inch D-shackle and an ultralight snatch block. Be aware that this kit is for vehicles 5,600 lbs and under. Recovery gear is weight dependent. For example, ARB recommends that snatch straps that are rated for 3-4 times the weight of the vehicle. This kit is perfect for Jeep Wranglers, small trucks like the Toyota Tacoma, and small SUV's like Toyota 4runner, the FJ Cruiser and the Nissan Xterra

Recovery Damper - The ARB Recovery Damper is a weighted pad that you place over a snatch strap or winch cable in case the strap or cable breaks. It will absorb most of the energy of the break and reduce the cable or strap whipping effect.

Maxtrax - The Maxtrax MKII is a couple of plastic traction boards that are used if you get stuck in sand, mud or snow. You simply place the boards in front of the wheels that have lost traction and are spinning when you try to drive forward. The Maxtrax will supply traction and help drive out of the problem.

Hi-Lift Jack - A Hi Lift jack like the Hi-Lift Jack XT 485 is another must have addition to your rig. Not will it lift your vehicle to fix a flat or raise your rig high enough to place a set of Maxtrax under you spinning wheel, you can also use it as a winch in conjunction with a Snatch to pull you out or up from a trail problem.

The Hi-Lift Jack ORK Kit is all the accessaries you need to use your Hi Lift jack as a winch. A couple of items in this kit you will find in the ARB Recovery Kit, but redundancy is a good thing when life is on the line.

Air Compressor - When you are done with your off road adventure and you are ready to drive home, now you have to put all that air back. The ARB High Output Air Compressor has some special features that make a great option. It takes a long time to inflate tires back up to normal pressures and there are some issues with running a compressor for extended periods.
